To achieve these outcomes, our programs are divided into the following six areas: Power Hour:
An after school homework help program. Students work with instructors on their homework and earn Power Points for achieving weekly academic goals. Last school year our Club Kids completed more than 10,000 Power Hours.
Cadet Corps:
A weekly group club for 7, 8, and 9-year olds. Under the guidance of an instructor, Club Kids brainstorm and reach consensus on five goals that they will achieve during the week. Youngsters choose a reward activity for goal achievers. So far this year, 247 Cadet members have spent 557 hours setting and accomplishing goals.
Keystone Club:
Developing tomorrow’s leaders, this group is designed for Club Kids age 14 through 18. Keystoners participate in programs that focus on service to the Boys & Girls Clubs and to the community. Select members get the opportunity to attend regional and national conferences to share ideas and talk about teen problems with their peers from other Clubs. So far this year, 69 teenagers are involved in the Keystone Club program. Thirty-seven of them participated in 177 hours of community service.
Computer Technology:
Mastering skills that last a lifetime. Using technology on a daily basis is something many Club Kids do not have access to outside of school. Using the internet at the Club supports a Club Kid’s homework assignments while keeping them away from unnecessary content on the web. 226 members completed the age appropriate NetSmartz internet safety curriculum from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. 1,229 members spent 7,761 hours in computer labs since January 1st.

Resident Camp:
Outdoor and environmental education services were provided for 425 members at Camp Big Silver during the 2006 summer residential camp program, which is affordable to members and provides a unique opportunity for inner-city kids to explore nature. More than 400 kids attended camp last summer.
Arts & Crafts: Provides opportunities for kids to think and be creative. Programs enhance self-expression and creativity, skill development and exposure to the Arts. Daily projects, hobby crafts, and cultural festivals are the core of the Arts & Crafts program. Through a partnership with the Toledo Museum of Art, kids take part in art instruction and explore the exhibitions.
